Do you comment on blog posts written by other people?  Most bloggers like to reply to comments by email.  If you are a no-reply blogger, your email won't show up when you comment and that makes it really difficult for the blogger to respond to your comment.

I've seen other tutorials on this, but I still have many no-reply bloggers out there and thought I'd post a tutorial as well.

Read on to make the really simple change so you can receive responses by email.

Here's a video that I made during my sneak peek of the tech tip on Periscope.  It shows you how to follow the steps that I wrote above.

I know the video quality isn't that great recording it using Periscope.  Please let me know if you like the video feature on my tech tips and I can always do a screen recording to post on my blog instead of the Periscope video.  Just let me know your preference!

I'm also linking up with Kacie from Second Grade Sizzle for her Tech Tuesday linky!  You can find more tech tips over on her blog.

No Tech Tip Tuesday next week while I'm on my honeymoon.  I'll be back with my next tip on August 4th!

New Blog Design!

My blog got a makeover today!  I started off wanting to update my TOU for my products.  I read somewhere that it's good to match your TOU to your blog.  I thought that was a really good tip.

So before I could work on my TOU, I had to update my blog!  Be honest - what do you think?

I took notes as I went this time so I could remember what to do in the future.  I also want to get started designing blogs for others, but I just don't know where to start.  For those of you who design blogs, how did you get started?  Any tips for me?

We leave for our honeymoon next Friday, so I have another week to be productive.  Once we get back, it'll be August and time to think about school again.

What is the top thing left on your to-do list for the summer?

Tech Tip Tuesday - Using Canva to Watermark your Photos

Create your watermark - can be text or can be your logo. Whichever you choose is fine, but try to be consistent.  I've been playing around with different options and I think I finally found what I like best!

I used PowerPoint to create my text.  I picked some of my favorite KG fonts.  Since I wanted my text to be white, I made the background black so I could see what it looked like.

After you create your text watermark, you want to save it as a png file.  The easiest way to do this is to select all the text.  Then right click and select the save as picture option.  Save it in a convenient place with a name that you will remember.

I wanted to use this graphic on my iPad, so I saved it to Dropbox because I can get those files on my iPad.

Now, I can take a picture using my iPad and be able to put my watermark on it without using my computer.  Here's how:

I created an account on Canva and downloaded the app on my iPad.

I took a picture using the camera on my iPad.  Before uploading it to Instagram or Facebook, I wanted to add my watermark.  I'm going to use this picture of my wedding bears to show you how I add my watermark using Canva.

Without a watermark, someone could easily share this photo as their own.  If I have my watermark on the photo, it can still be shared, but people know where it came from.  It definitely doesn't eliminate stealing photos, but it's a step that makes me feel better.

After you open Canva on your phone or iPad, you will see all the options for designs at the top. Pick whichever size you want.  In my case, I want the Instagram post size, so I will choose that one.

Then choose the uploads option on the left.  Pick your photo from the list.  You can re-size it to fit your needs.  I like to make it fill the whole box so there isn't a white border when I post on Instagram.

Then scroll down in your photos until you find your watermark.  Mine is the white box.  I uploaded 2 different resolutions, so I make sure I pick the newest one.  It will put your watermark over your photo.  Then you can re-size it and position it wherever you'd like.  You can see that I put it in the bottom right hand corner.

Once you have your image the way you'd like, choose the download option in the upper right hand corner.  You can download it as an image or as a pdf.  Choose the image option and then it is saved on your device.

Then you can post your image to Instagram and your watermark will be there for you!

Wedding Weekend Sale!

I have a big announcement!  I'm getting married tomorrow!  My store will be 20% off through Sunday in order to help you celebrate with me.  Click on the sale graphic below to go directly to my store.

I cannot believe the day is finally here.  We've had the date set since May 2014.  When we first started our countdown, we had over 400 days to go.  Now we're down to 1.

This process has definitely taught me a lot about myself as a person and future wife.  I always thought I'd care about all the minor details, but now all that matters is that I will walk away from the day with a husband.  If things don't go as planned, oh well.  There are so many things that have happened during this process that have been out of my control.  From not getting to have the Orioles mascot make an appearance, to my nephew being in a cast and not being able to walk, to the few guests who have passed away recently.  I can't change any of those things.  What I could control was the effort I've put into this wedding.  I poured my heart out over the last few weeks making sure all the things I could control were the best that they could be.  And that's all that matters.

Now, it's time to get this party started!  Can't wait to come back as a Mrs!

TpT Seller Challenge - Make Your Masterpiece

I finished a product!  This TpT Seller Challenge was definitely motivating.  I've had these made for awhile because I used them with my advanced math students during April/May.  I just had to make them nice and neat for my store.

The bundle includes all 8 individual products.  You can download one specific set of facts or you can buy all the facts.  It is a great product to leave with a substitute.  I included answer keys so the substitute could help you grade.  You could also send these worksheets home for homework.

I gave my students a packet at the beginning of the week when we learned a new strategy.  They kept it in their take home folders so they could practice at home or during class if they finished their other work early.  I used it to enrich some of my more advanced students.

The graphic above links to the bundle.  If you want to go directly to a specific fact set, click on the cover below.

Stay tuned until Friday when I have a special announcement!

I'm back!  At least for this week!  I've definitely neglected my blog, store, etc due to my wedding.  I still have 4 days to go, but I'm so prepared, I can take some time for blogging.

Anyway, remember when I blogged about using on screen sticky notes?  In that post, you can see my desktop organizer.  Well, I've updated my desktop organizer to make it brighter and more helpful with all the different social media accounts I use now.

Here is what it looks like now:

I love how bright it is and the different fonts really make it pop.  Definitely motivating for me to keep working on my store and using social media to connect with my followers.

I had a request on Facebook to make it available in my store.  So it is!  And you can get it for free by clicking on the graphic below.

Included in the download is directions on how to use the desktop organizer.  It tells you how to use the text version or the no text version.

What are you waiting for?  Don't you want this bright organizer on your desktop?  If you don't like my text labels, you can add your own on the no text version!

If you're using my desktop, I'd love to see a picture of it!

What do you use to organize files on your computer?
