Movie Clip Monday - Money Worm

Movie Clip Monday is here and I couldn't be more excited!  Each week I will feature a movie here on my blog.  It might be a video clip from YouTube, a Brain Pop video, or some other video I've found online.  The videos might be motivational, educational, or just funny things!

Here's the best part... I'm inviting you to link up with me each week.

Here's what you need to do to link up:

1.  Find a video that you'd like to share with your readers.
2.  Download the Movie Clip Monday graphic above by right clicking to save as. Save your picture in a convenient place for you.
3.  Write about your video and include the Movie Clip Monday graphic with a link to this post.
4.  Come back to this post to add your link to the linky.
5.  Visit other blogs and leave comments for someone who linked up before you and come back to leave a comment for someone who linked up after you!

My students were having a hard time learning how to count money.  I needed to find a motivational video and I found just that.

The Money Worm!  This is a short video that teaches the students to count money by putting the coins in order from largest value to smallest value.

In previous years, my students have really struggled with putting their coins in order before starting to count.  Their idea of counting money was to just count in any order.

This year, the money worm worked!  And it worked wonderfully!  I was talking to my coworker who also used this method with her students and we are puzzled why it works.  It is so silly, but it does the trick!

If you'd like to try this when teaching your students to coin money, you can also download the template I used.

If you are interested in getting the codes for linking up early, you can find them in this folder on Google Drive.  Once the link up closes, I will delete the file for that linkup so you can be sure to find the current ones.  You don't HAVE to link up early, but the option is always there if you'd like.  Just make sure you have the correct publish date/time and have clicked publish.  If links aren't working when I check after 12am EST on publish date, I will delete the link and send you an email so you can link up again after your post is published.
